Aaron Shields begins his second year with Mason Ice Hockey as a key member of the defensive corps. Shields was one of the team's four mainstay defenseman in the 2013-14 season, which saw the Patriots win their Region of the Atlantic Division of the Blue Ridge Hockey Conference.
A sophomore, Shields has earned the nickname "The Alaskan Assassin" for his crunching hits on opposing forwards when they make the mistake of venturing into his area of the ice. Shields played high school hockey locally for the Prince William Panthers and Woodbridge High School. With his family now in Alaska, Aaron Shields remains focused on his studies in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at GMU, while contributing to Mason Ice Hockey's success.
