Forward Tyler Lovejoy is a graduate student from South Burlington, Vermont, in his third season with the Patriots. Growing up in New England, Tyler was out on the ice almost as soon as he learned to walk. He started playing hockey when he was just four years old. He played hockey on his high school team and received the award for Most Improved Player his senior year.
As an undergrad at Clarkson University in upstate New York, Tyler played on the school hockey team for two seasons. He graduated with a B.S. in Software Engineering in 2009. He is working on a Master’s of Science in Software Engineering at Mason’s Volgenau School of Engineering, juggling coursework and hockey with a full-time job for a Department of Defense contractor and spending time with his wife and six-month old son, Parker.
When he receives his degree at the end of the semester, Tyler intends to advance to a leadership position in his field. He is looking forward to more quality family time once the hockey season and his studies at Mason end – and maybe even someday teaching his son how to play the game of hockey.
