The George Mason University Ice Hockey Alumni Foundation was established as a 501(C)3 corporation with the goal of raising funds to assist with increasing expenses associated with the growth of the George Mason University ACHA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey team and the teams expanded local charitable efforts. While the University does provide some funding for the team, it is not nearly enough to cover all expenses that are inherent with a Division I team.
In addition to assisting with the teams equipment and travel expenses, Mason Ice Hockey and the Alumni foundation are committed to giving back to our local community and have raised over $250,000 since 2012 to community groups such as Children’s National Medical Center, Fisher House, TAPS and other groups serving others in the DC Metropolitan area.
One-hundred percent of the money raised by the Foundation goes directly back into the team, and our community support fundraising activities.
