George Mason University Patriots Ice Hockey team raised a total of $14,040 in its annual charity game Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, for the benefit of the families being cared for by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Washington, DC (RMHCDC).
The nonprofit RMHCDC works to ease the burden of childhood illness on families in the DC metro area through programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children.
It was a hard-fought game for a great cause. In the end, Mason pulled out a 3-2 victory over Pennsylvania State University-Altoona after Cameron Smith broke the tie with less than seven minutes left in the third period.
Thank you to the Penn State Altoona coaches and players for coming down from Pennsylvania to participate, and to everyone else who contributed and helped make the event a success!
