Raymond Booth, an elite forward from Centreville, Virginia, has committed to Mason Hockey after a successful season with the Ashburn Xtreme.

"I can't wait to get started at GMU to play at an elite and highly competitive level and make new memories with my teammates and family,” Booth said.

Over the last two seasons as a forward on the Ashburn U18AA team, Booth notched 74 goals and 64 assists, totaling 138 points over 118 games. Booth was also named to The Washington Post’s 2020 Winter All-Met First team during his senior year at Westfield High School, where he was the team’s leading point scorer and captain.

"Ray is a small but fast forward who can really fly. He has great hands, a great sense of the game, and a goal-scoring touch that is hard to find," Coach Alex Grose commented. "His ability to score is something we are really excited about."

George Mason University being the first public university in Virginia with an ACHA Division I men’s program provides a great opportunity to both attend an in-state college with nationally ranked academic programs, as well as compete at the highest non-NCAA level available.

Booth will be joining current teammate and 2020 commit Matthew Price at Mason for the upcoming season. The two forwards have played together on the Xtreme for the last few years.
